Grand Final 2008

World Cyber Games 2008 – Grand Final

This year the world’s largest gaming event will be held in Cologne, Germany between the 4th and 9th of November. This is the second event, hosted in this country, after the European e-sport champions were chosen at the Samsung Euro Championship 2008 in Hannover. The host city is one of the biggest and oldest settlements in Germany. Its name Colonia (Cologne, Koln) derives from the Roman Empire. Later the Romans became Christians and turned Cologne into their spiritual centre. The city has great history and as the fourth biggest settlement in Germany can provide diverse entertainment for all the fans and players.

If you like historical landmarks you can feel the spirit of the past in the ancient sections of the town. If you prefer a more modern way of life the newest part of the city is worth your interest. Beside the numerous pubs, clubs and discos you can enjoy the incredible architecture and the local beauties. The galleries and museums are also worth your attention. Of course in those few November days you will probably not see everything but it’s worth looking around and taking a picture or two.

The competition will be held in Hall 8 of the Kolnmesse (The Cologne Exhibition Centre) which is spread on an area of 16,875 square meters.
